All the Birds and MeerkatFerrets? o.O

Digging about in her bag, Lyri pulled out a small bottle. She woke her pokemon and murmured something unintelligible. She sprayed the mist over the pokemon and watched while it healed the scrapes and cuts that the Piplup had acquired during his past battle. "Lup! (Thanks!)" he twittered

Watching a Lyri dug around in her bag reminded Melody that she too had some useful items in her own bag. She rearranged the items inside until she found what she was looking for. It was a box, pale blue in colour, but on the lid it had a picture of multiple different berries.
Melody opened the lid and chose one of the Oran berries from inside. She then split it into pieces to feed to her Swablu.

"Here you go Kin'iro. As mom always says, natural is best!" she grinned.

Leaping up, Bubbles began to give Kin'iro the biggest list of excuses/threats she would ever hear. Well, most likely. "Piiiplup! Lup! (Of course, you only won because of your fancy footwork. Any pokemon knows its strength and strategy that matters not beauty and poise)" he tilted his beak so that it was straight in the air, his arrogant side resurfacing.

As Lyri watched, she sweat dropped, opening her mouth and closing it again for she had no clue what to say to a trainer who was being told off by a pokemon.

Kin'iro watched the Piplup as he lectured them both. The golden Swablu ruffled her feathers, waiting until there was a break in the long line of excuses.
"Bluuuu Swablu. ('Fancy footwork' as you put it, counts as strategy. And so is using beauty and poise. In a contest battle it would be essential to getting a decent score, but in a normal battle, you can catch your opponent off guard with the simplest of graceful movements.)

Melody just watched as her pokemon answered the Piplup's taunts.

"Lup(Just keep flattering yourself deary)" Bubbles chirped, turning tail and walking, head high, back to Lyri. "Now, don't be rude Bubbles! They're nice, they really are!" the trainer however sounded desperate and as if she was begging instead of being in charge.

Kin'iro didn't seem phased by the Piplup's insults. In fact she just ignored them and moved on. She moved out of Melody's arms and perched back on her head. Her trainer shrugged deciding to just let her stay there again, since it wasn't exactly uncomfortable.
"Lets more on then?" she suggested, packing her berry case away and getting ready to continue up the route.

Lyri nodded, glad to see that Kin'iro was being the bigger person err....pokemon in this situation. "Onward!" the blonde put one hand on her hip and the other pointed forward. Bubbles mimicked this and the two practically looked like twins, other than the size difference.

Melody chuckled at their pose before she started walking again.
"I wonder what pokemon live around here then. I've never really been outside of Luminos Town so it's all very exciting!" she laughed.

Lyri began walking again, taking up the conversation. "Me neither! hey! Let's run into the grass and figure out eh?" without waiting for a response, Bubbles and Lyri dashed into the tall grass, the green fronds brushing the trainer's waist.

Melody slowly followed Lyri into the long green blades of grass, wading through them. She kept checking tho make sure that she didn't step on some pokemon's unsuspecting tail. She could hear the chirrups of multiple Pidgey all over the place.

Suddenly, a little way in front of them, a Sentret poked its head out of the grass and looked around. It had its back to them. Melody immediately froze, but the Sentret had already heard her and had darted back into the grass.
It wasn't long before a few more of them, most likely traveling in a group to up their chance of survival, began poking their heads out as if to double check what the Sentret had seen.

Melody grinned, "They're so cute!" she whispered to her Swablu, "Let's follow them!"

"Adorable!" Lyri cooed. She was sure not to say it too loud for she didn't want to scare away the pokemon. "Get ready Bubbles! And be real sneaky" the blonde haired girl slowed her footsteps and, in turn, made them quieter. "Hey, Melody!" she whispered. "Are you gonna follow those pokemon as well?"

"Yes!" she grinned quietly, already hurrying after the Sentret, but making sure not to rustle the grass too much.
"Keep an eye on the group from the air Kin'iro," she whispered to her pokemon.

With a short nod in reply, the golden Swablu took off from Melody's head and focused on following the Sentret, making sure that even when Lyri and her own trainer couldn't see them, she could.

"Sweet" Lyri whispered with a wide smile. As the two Sentret paused, Lyri paused as well. Once she had seen that they were going to rest for a while, she continued forward ever so slowly and ever so quietly. As she was almost upon the Sentret, she paused once more. 'So close' she thought, tempted to jump out and tackle one. However, her better judgement got in the way of that one, leaving her to wait for a good opening.

Melody glanced up at Kin'iro as the Sentret paused in their journey. The Swablu noticed the intent in her eyes and fluttered over to the other side of the wild pokemon.
"Astonish." she suddenly commanded, dropping all forms of sneaking around.

A loud, shrill and unexpected screech came from Kin'iro's tiny beak, startling both Sentret as she moved to attack the one nearest to her.

"Now Bubbles!" Lyri yelled. The Piplup flung himself off of his trainer's shoulder. "Piiplup!(Be prepared to be caught, Sentret!)" he crowed. "Quick! Pound!" Lyri shouted her command quickly, not wanting the wild pokemon to run away. With a nod, Bubbles flew at the sentret.

The Sentret, a male and a very bouncy one at that, tumbling backwards as a screech from above distracted him. After hearing the yowl of a human, he whipped his head around. Unfortunately for him, by the time he saw Bubbles, he was already being hit. Slamming against a tree due to the sheer force behind the pound attack, the Sentret rose to his feet again, a bt worse for wear.

The other Sentret, a female one that seemed much calmer than the male froze in shock from the sudden attack and was hit head on. It didn't take her long to attempt to retaliate with a Scratch move though.
Using her thick tail to propel herself, she swiped at the Swablu.

Kin'iro hadn't seen it coming, and Melody hadn't expected it either, but just as the Sentret landed the hit, Melody commanded Kin'iro to use Peck.

The Swablu flipped over, trying to ignore the damage that the Scratch move had done. She then used Peck, hitting the Sentret head on.... literally.

With an angry look, the low leveled Sentret jumped on its tail towards the Piplup, using a tackle attack. Bubbles sidestepped, leaving the Sentret to crash into the ground. "Another pound!" was the yell from his trainer. He obliged, throwing himself at the Sentret who lay on the ground. With some difficulty, the Sentret struggled to his feet. "Seeeeen!(Don't get cocky!)" he quipped , preparing to throw himself at the Piplup once more. However, Lyri did something he did not expect. With a quick motion, a red beam of light had encased the Sentret and he was brought into a small enclosure. A spherical red and white ball. The ball rocked back and forth, back and forth..

The Sentret continued to battle with Kin'iro, though it was now a miniature battle of Scratch vs Peck.
Eventually, because of her higher level, Kin'iro's Peck attack managed to break through the scratch and deal a hard blow to the female Sentret.

Following what Lyri had done, Melody fussed around in her bag, looking for one of the five pokeballs she had been given this morning before setting off. She finally found one of them at the bottom of her bag and brought it out. It grew in size before Melody threw it at the female Sentret. The red light entangled the wild pokemon, bringing it into the pokeball. It then landed roughly on the ground and rolled from side to side before a final click noise let Melody know she had succeeded.

Melody physically jumped for joy and snatched her Swablu out of the air, hugging her tightly.
"Thankyou Kin'iro!" she grinned, knowing how hard the shiny pokemon had worked.


After releasing her Swablu from her grasp, Melody went over and fetched her newly captured pokemon. She held the pokeball in her hand, staring at it.
"What should I name you?" she asked herself before she let the Sentret out to meet Kin'iro properly.

With a final click that came only a few seconds after Melody's, Lyri snatched up her pokeball and grinned. She threw the ball, the Sentret reappearing. "I'll name you Itachi" she said decisively, smiling as the newly named Itachi made a happy squeaking noise. "Sen!(Okay!)" the happy-go-lucky Sentret would certainly have to try rather hard to get along with the cocky and arrogant Piplup.

After a few moments of thinking, Melody came up with a name that seemed to suit. Kin'iro meanwhile fluttered down and landed next to the Sentret. "Blu!(Hello!)"
"I think I'll name you Chairo." smiled Melody after watching the two pokemon for a moment longer.

Itachi, moving in the fluid-like way that Sentret and Furret had, ended up by Chairo. He grinned and prodded her with a paw, saying "Sentret, Sen!(You too, eh?)" with a tone of laughter. Bubbles, on the other hand, looked at the ferret-like pokemon with disdain. "Pipluup(Unworthy)" he sniffed, beak in the air. Lyri watched the pokemon converse and laughed at Itachi's movements and Bubbles' beak up in the air. "Oh you high-and-mighty little thing you" she said in a half loving, half criticizing tone.

Chairo nodded, laughing as her friend, now named Itachi, poked her with his paw.
"Sen(I guess so!)"
Kin'iro smiled at the two Sentret. At least they knew each other an wouldn't just be thrown into a new world and have to make all new friends.

Melody smiled at the two Sentret, proud about catching her first pokemon. She admired the way that Sentret and Furret moved.
"I think you'd both be a great contest pokemon!"

Itachi tilted his head "'Tret?(Contest?)" he whipped around after hearing a snort. he was given a look from the Piplup that said 'are you an imbecile?' and then heard him begin to speak. "Piplup, Piip!(A contest is a place where pokemon and their trainers show off their beauty in battle and in attire)" he recited.

Kin'iro rolled her eyes slightly before flapping her cloud-like wings and hovering a few feet above the ground. "Swablu, Bluuu.(These two did used to be wild pokémon you know, Bubbles.)"

Chairo smiled and looked at Itachi, "Sentret!(Sounds interesting!)"

Melody rummaged through her bag to find her pokédex. It happened to have slipped to the very bottom when she had sought out a pokéball to catch Chairo a few minutes ago. She finally found it and held it up.
The pokédex was pale blue, matching most of her clothing and general appearance. She held it up and the mechanical sounding female voice began telling her about her new pokémon.
Sentret, the Scout Pokémon. Sentret is a very cautious pokémon that is able to see great distances by rising up on its tail. When it spots an enemy, or any kind of danger, it emits a loud, shrill cry as a warning. It's evolved form is Furret.

Lyri listened to the pokedex's words. Looking down at her Sentret, she listened to it speak animatedly with the other Sentret and grinned. "How cute!" she cooed, picking up the ferret-ish pokemon and cuddling it close to her chest. Bubbles glared at his trainer, clearly jealous of the attention that Itachi was getting.
